Our School

Messing Primary School was built in 1914 and serves the villages of Messing, Inworth and the wider community. Our Edwardian school building is bright, airy and consists of three classrooms as well as an Early Years base. The Early Years base is equipped with a kitchen and a toilet and has direct access to a stimulating, fully equipped outside play area.

The newly built lodge serves as our library and music/group room. Our wellbeing room is available as a calm relaxing space for children. All of our classrooms serve as ICT suites as full use is made of our ICT resources throughout the day. We also have an office, a medical room, a staff room and a separate hall.

Our school is situated in picturesque, rural surroundings. We have our own playing field that is used for sports, outside activities, fetes and events. Our grounds are also home to a play area, adventure gym trails, sensory garden and outside classroom. The location is ideal for environmental and wildlife studies and we have access to the local community orchard and woodland area. The school has strong links with the village community, sharing social occasions with local groups. We have an active Parent, Teachers and Friends’ Association and receive excellent support from the local community for our school functions.

Close links with secondary schools in the area enable us to prepare pupils for a smooth transition to secondary education.
